The drug has an expectorant effect, primarily due to the presence of glycyrrhizin, which enhances the secretory function of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract.

Indications:

Applied in adults and children as an expectorant for respiratory diseases accompanied by cough, mainly in the presence of poorly separated, thick and viscous secretion (especially in children and the elderly).

Contraindications:

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding, bronchial asthma, gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenal ulcer during the exacerbation, a deficiency of sugar / isomaltase, intolerance to fructose, glucose-galactose malabsorption.

Carefully:

liver disease, alcoholism, craniocerebral trauma,

cerebral diseases, diabetes, children's age.

Dosing and Administration:

Inside adults and children over 12 years old, 1 teaspoon, previously diluted in 1/4 cup water, 3 times a day.

Children under 2 years - 1-2 drops (previously diluted in 1 teaspoon of water) 3 times a day.

Children from 2 to 6 years - 2-10 drops (previously diluted in 1 teaspoon of water) 3 times a day.

Children from 6 to 12 years - 50 drops (previously divorced in 1/2glass of water) 3 times a day.

In the presence of poorly separated sputum and to facilitate expectoration, an abundant warm drink is recommended.

The course of treatment is 7-10 days. The expediency of conducting a second course of treatment is determined by the doctor.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible; in some cases, there may be dyspepsia (diarrhea). With prolonged use, hypokalemia is possible, higherarterial pressure, appearance of peripheral edema due to disturbance of water-electrolyte metabolism.

Overdose:

It is possible to increase dose-dependent side effects. Treatment is symptomatic.

Interaction:

The drug can be prescribed with other drugs used in the treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases.

Do not use simultaneously with drugs containing codeine and other anti-cough medicines, as this makes it difficult to cough up thinned phlegm.

Special instructions:

Information for diabetics: one spoon contains 0.29 bread units (XE), 1 drop - 0.0024 XE.

The maximum single dose of the drug for adults contains 0.54 g of absolute alcohol, the maximum daily dose is 1.62 g of absolute alcohol, in 1 drop (for children) 0.0046 g of absolute alcohol.

During the treatment period, care must be taken when driving vehicles and occupying otherspotentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.
