Pieces of roots of various shapes passing through a sieve with holes 7 mm in size. The surface is covered with a cork of dark or gray-brown in liquorice or reddish-brown - in licorice of the Urals, longitudinally wrinkled. Fracture strongly fibrous light yellow. The smell is absent. The taste of the water extract is sweet, slightly irritating.

Pharmacodynamics:

Broth from the roots of licorice has an expectorant and anti-inflammatory effect.

Indications:

In the complex therapy of infectious-inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (mainly in the presence of poorly separated,thick and viscous secretion); in complex therapy for chronic inflammatory diseases of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract (hyperacid gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding, bronchial asthma, children under 1 year.

Dosing and Administration:

About 8 g (2 tablespoons) of roots are placed in enameled dishes, poured into 200 ml (1 glass) of cooled boiled water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 10 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw material is squeezed . The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water. Adults and children over 12 years are prescribed inside 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day. Children from 1 year to 3 years - 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day, 3 to 5 years - 1 dessert spoon 2-3 times a day, 5 to 12 years - 1 dessert spoon 3-4 times in a day.

The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks.

It is recommended to stir the broth before use.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible; in some cases, there may be dyspepsia (diarrhea).With prolonged use, hypokalemia is possible, increased

arterial pressure, the appearance of peripheral edema due to disturbance of water salt metabolism.

Interaction:

The drug can be administered concomitantly with other drugs used in the treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases.

Do not use simultaneously with drugs containing codeine and other antitussive medicines, as this makes it difficult to cough up thinned phlegm.

Special instructions:

The intake of the drug does not affect the ability to carry out potentially dangerous activities requiring special attention and quick reactions (driving and other vehicles, working with moving mechanisms, dispatcher and operator work, etc.).
