    Composition:

    100 g of ointment contains:

    active substance: hydrocortisone acetate in terms of 100% substance -1 g;

    Excipients: petrolatum, lanolin anhydrous, pentaerythritol dioleate (pentol), stearic acid, methylparahydroxybenzoate (nipagin), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (nipazole), purified water.

    Description:

    Ointment is white with a yellowish tint or light yellow color. A specific odor is allowed.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Hydrocortisone has an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effect. It inhibits the release of cytokines (interleukins and interferon) from lymphocytes and macrophages, inhibits the release of eosinophils mediators of inflammation, reduces the metabolism of arachidonic acid and the synthesis of prostaglandins. Stimulating steroid receptors induces the formation of lipocortin. Reduces inflammatory cell infiltrates, reduces the migration of leukocytes (incl.lymphocytes) into the area of ​​inflammation.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    After application, it accumulates in the epidermis (mainly in the granular layer). Metabolized directly in the epidermis, and later in the liver. It is excreted by the kidneys and with bile.

    Indications:

    Eczema, dermatitis (allergic and contact), neurodermatitis, erythroderma, psoriasis, pruritus, lichen planus, insect bites, photodermatosis.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to hydrocortisone or other components of the drug, postvaccinal period, bacterial, viral and fungal skin diseases (pyoderma, mycosis), skin tuberculosis, breach of the integrity of the skin (ulcers, wounds), syphilitic skin lesions, skin tumors, children under 2 years . Rosacea, vulgar acne, perioral dermatitis. Pregnancy.

    Carefully:Diabetes mellitus, tuberculosis (systemic damage), lactation.

    Outwardly. Ointment is applied a thin layer on the affected skin 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 1-3 weeks. On limited foci, occlusal dressings can be used to enhance the effect.The dose of the drug used within 1 week should not exceed 30-60 g.

    When used in children aged 2 years and older should limit the total duration of the treatment period of not more than 2 weeks and eliminate the activities leading to increased absorption of the steroid (warming, fixing and occlusive dressings).

    Side effects:

    Hyperemia, swelling and itching in the places of ointment application.

    With prolonged use may develop secondary infectious lesions, atrophic changes therein, hypertrichosis, and (particularly in occlusive dressings, and / or applied to the large surfaces) - development of symptoms giperkorti- tsizma (hyperglycemia, glycosuria, reversible depression of adrenocortical function, a syndrome Itenko-Cushing), as a manifestation of the resorptive action of hydrocortisone.

    Overdose:

    Symptoms: with prolonged use and / or in high doses, it is possible to suppress adrenal function with the development of secondary adrenal insufficiency and symptoms of hypercorticism, including Itenko-Cushing syndrome.

    Treatment: gradual withdrawal of the drug. Appropriate symptomatic therapy. If necessary - correction of electrolyte disturbances.

    Special instructions:

    Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

    Children under 12 years of age, the drug is prescribed only under strict medical supervision (suppression of the function of the adrenal cortex can be faster and the growth hormone secretion may decrease).

    If after 7 days of application there is no improvement or if there is a worsening of the condition, and also if the symptoms recur after a few days after cancellation, the drug should be discontinued and consulted by a doctor.

    With long-term treatment and / or application to large surfaces, it is recommended to prescribe a diet with sodium restriction and high potassium content; enter into the body sufficient amount of protein.

    It is necessary to control blood pressure, the concentration of glucose and cortisol in the blood, blood clotting, diuresis, body weight of the patient.

    The drug contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate, which can cause allergic reactions.
