1 g of liniment contains: active substance - sodium sulfanilamide (streptocid soluble) - 0.05 g (in terms of 100% substance); auxiliary substances: glycerol (glycerin distilled) - 0.30 g,emulsifier №1 (Lanette® SX) - 0.080 g, water (purified water) - up to 1 g.

Description:White or white with a creamy shade of color liniment, with a specific smell.

Pharmacodynamics:

Antimicrobial bacteriostatic agent, sulfanilamide. The mechanism of action of the drug due to competitive antagonism with para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), inhibition digidropteroatsintazy, tetrahydrofolic acid synthesis disorder necessary for the synthesis of purines and pyrimidines. It is active against Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Including S.pyogenes, S.pneumoniae, Legionella spp., Brucella spp., Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Salmonella spp., Serratia spp., Calymmatobactcrium granulomatis, Vibrio cholerae, Clostridium perfringens, Bacillus anthracis, Nocardia asteroids, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Yersinia pestis, Chlamydia spp., Actinomyces israelii, Toxoplasma gondii.

When applied to the skin, it contributes to the rapid healing of wounds and epithelialization of erosion.

Indications:Infected wounds of various ethnologies, burns (I-II cent.), Folliculitis, furuncles, carbuncles, vulgar acne, impetigo, erysipelas and other purulent-inflammatory skin processes.

Contraindications:Giperchuvstvitslnost to the drug, anemia, renal / hepatic insufficiency, congenital deficiency of glucose-6-fosfatdegndrogenazy, azotemia, porphyria, pregnancy, lactation.

Carefully:Children up to 3 months.

Dosing and Administration:

Outwardly. Liniment is applied to the gauze bandage, which is applied to the affected area; dressings are produced after 1-2 days.

With a large area of damage, the daily dose of liniment in terms of sulfanilamide should not exceed 6 g in adults (corresponding to 120 g of liniment), 0.6 g in children under 1 year (corresponding to 12 g of liniment), 1.8 g in children 1-5 years (corresponding to 36 g of liniment), 3 g of children 5 -12 years (corresponding to 60 g of liniment).

Side effects:Allergic reactions are possible. With prolonged use of large doses - a systemic action: headache, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis, crystalluria.

Overdose:No cases of drug overdose have been reported.

Interaction:Myelotoxic drugs increase the manifestation of hematotoxicity of the drug.

Special instructions:In the treatment of extensive skin lesions, an abundant alkaline drink is recommended.

Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and engage in potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Liniment 5%.
