A mixture of pieces of rhizomes with roots of various brownish-brown forms passing through a sieve with holes 2 mm in size. The smell is strong, fragrant. The taste of the water extract is spicy, sweetish-bitterish.

Pharmacodynamics:

Infusion of rhizomes with the roots of valerian shows a moderately pronounced sedative effect. Sedation is slow, but fairly stable. In addition, the drug has antispasmodic properties.

Indications:

Increased nervous excitability, insomnia, as part of complex therapy - functional disorders of the cardiovascular system, spasms of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug, children under 1 year.

Pregnancy and lactation:

The use of the drug during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is possible. It is necessary to consult a doctor.

Dosing and Administration:

3 filter bags are placed in a glass or enamel ware, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water,cover and insist for 15 minutes, the filter bags are squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 100 ml with boiled water.

Infusion is taken orally, 30 minutes after a meal: adults - 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day; children over 12 years - 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day, children from 6 to 12 years - 1 dessert spoon 2-3 times a day, children from 3 to 6 years - 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day day, children from 1 year to 3 years - 1/2 teaspoonful 2 times a day.

Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

Side effects:

Possible drowsiness, weakness (especially when used in high doses), decreased performance, with prolonged use - constipation. In some cases, the development of allergic reactions is possible.

Overdose:

To date, cases of overdose with the use of the drug has not been recorded.

Interaction:Strengthens the effect of hypnotics, sedatives and spasmolytic drugs.

Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:In connection with the possible reduction of psychomotor reactions during the period of drug use, care should be taken when performing potentially hazardous activities,requiring special attention and quick reactions (vehicle management, working with moving mechanisms, dispatcher and operator work, etc.).
