    Pharmacodynamics:

    In the roots and rhizomes of valerian contains essential oil, consisting of valerian, isovaleric acid and ether borneol.Also in the extract are alkaloids (hatinin and valerine), glucose, tannins.

    The drug has a sedative effect by reducing the excitability of the central nervous system, spasmolytic effect and potentiating the action of sedatives and hypnotics.

    Indications:

    It is used to treat neurasthenia, migraine, functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. It is used in the complex therapy of insomnia, neurocirculatory dystonia, climacteric syndrome. In the form of liquid concentrate is used for medical bath.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Use in children

    Inside, 1 drop of 70% alcohol for each year of life.

    As a decoction: 1 teaspoonful 3-4 times a day. To teenagers - on 1 dessert spoon 3-4 times a day.

    Adults

    Inside, 1-2 tablets or 20-30 drops of 70% alcohol tincture 3-4 times a day.

    The highest daily dose: 6 tablets or 90 drops of solution.

    The highest single dose: 2 tablets or 30 drops of solution.

    Side effects:

    Central and peripheral nervous system: dizziness, drowsiness, lethargy, cognitive disorders.

    Digestive system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, heartburn, constipation.

    Musculoskeletal system: muscle weakness.

    Dermatological reactions: exanthema.

    Allergic reactions.

    Overdose:

    Vomiting, muscle weakness, arthralgia.

    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction:

    Increases the effect of hypnotics and sedatives, as well as alcohol and other drugs that depress the central nervous system.

    Special instructions:

    During the treatment it is not recommended to drive vehicles and work with moving mechanisms.
