The tincture of valerian shows a moderately pronounced sedative effect. The active principle of the preparation is borneol ester and isovaleric acid, free valeric acid. Sedation is slow, but fairly stable. Facilitates the onset of sleep. In addition, the drug has an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, has choleretic properties, increases the secretion of glands of the gastrointestinal tract.

Indications:

Increased nervous excitability, insomnia; in the complex therapy - functional disorders of the cardiovascular system, spasms of the gastrointestinal tract.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy, lactation, children under 1 year.

Carefully:Chronic enterocolitis, liver disease, alcoholism, craniocerebral trauma, brain diseases.

Dosing and Administration:

Take in, before eating, bred in a small amount of water. Adults 20-30 drops per reception 3-4 times a day, children - 1 drop for each year of life. The course of treatment is up to 4 weeks. Repeated courses are possible after consultation with the doctor.

Side effects:Possible drowsiness, weakness, decreased performance (especially when used in high doses), with prolonged use - constipation. In some cases, the development of allergic reactions is possible.

Interaction:

The drug enhances the effect of hypnotics and other medications that depress the central nervous system, as well as antispasmodics.

Special instructions:

The maximum single dose of the drug contains 0.32 grams of absolute alcohol, the maximum daily dose of the drug contains 1.3 grams of absolute alcohol. In one drop of the drug contains 0.01 g of absolute alcohol.
