Whole, cleaned from sepals and stems, false fruits of various shapes: from spherical, ovate or oval to strongly elongated spindle-shaped; length of fruit 0.7-5 cm,diameter 0.6-1.7 cm. At the top of the fruit there is a small round hole or pentagonal area. Fruits consist of overgrown fleshy, with ripening of succulent flower-plant (gipantia), and imprisoned in its cavity of numerous fruit-nuts. The walls of the dried fruit are hard brittle, the outer surface is shiny, less often matte, more or less wrinkled. Inside the fruit are abundantly lined with long, very stiff bristly hairs. Nuts are small, oblong, with slightly pronounced facets. The color of the fruit is from orange-red to brownish-red, the nuts are light yellow, sometimes brown. The smell is absent. The taste of water extract is sour-sweet, slightly astringent.
