Naphthyzine - instructions for use, dose, side effects, contraindications

Alpha-2 adrenostimulating agent has a rapid, pronounced and prolonged vasoconstrictive action against the vessels of the mucous membranes (reduces swelling, flushing, exudation). Relieves nasal breathing in rhinitis. After 5-7 days there is tolerance.

Pharmacokinetics:

vasoconstrictor effect occurs through a few minutes and lasts for several hours.

Indications:

Acute rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, eustachitis, hyperemia of the mucosa after operations on the upper respiratory tract. To stop nasal bleeding, to facilitate the conduct of a rhinoscopy.

Contraindications:

hypersensitivity to the drug components, arterial hypertension, atherosclerosis, thyrotoxicosis, children's age (up to 1 year), chronic rhinitis, eye diseases, diabetes mellitus, concurrent administration of monoamine oxidase inhibitors and up to 14 days after the end of their use.

Dosing and Administration:

Intranasally (in each nasal passage), adults are prescribed 1-3 drops of 0.05-0.1% solution 3-4 times a day. Have children apply 0.05% aqueous solution (or 0.025% solution, diluting 0,05% solution with distilled water): from 1 year to 6 years - 1-2 drops, from 6 to 15 - 2 drops 1-3 times in day. For diagnostic purposes - after cleaning the nose in each nasal drip 3-4 drops or insert a swab soaked in a 0.05% aqueous solution and leave for 1-2 minutes; when bleeding - tampons, moistened with 0.05% solution.

Side effects:

Irritation of the mucous membrane, hyperemia, when applied for more than a week - edema of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, atrophic rhinitis. Nausea, tachycardia, headache, increased blood pressure.

Overdose:

Symptoms: lowering of body temperature, bradycardia, hypertension. Treatment: symptomatic.

Interaction:

Do not combine with MAO inhibitors (after the end of their use, prescribe naftizine no earlier than 14 days).

Naphthyzin lengthens the action of local anesthetics used for surface anesthesia.

Nasal drops 0.05% and 0.1%.

Packaging:5 ml or 10 ml in bottles of drug drota, sealed with rubber plugs, crimped aluminum caps.

For 1 bottle of glass with a lid-dropper, along with instructions for use are placed in a pack of cardboard box.

Four bottles with a dropper cap are placed in a contour mesh package. 1 circuit cell pack together with the instruction for use is placed in a pack of cardboard for consumer containers.

For 50 bottles with an equal number of instructions for use are placed in a cardboard box.

Storage conditions:

Keep in a place protected from light. Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life:

3 of the year. This medicine can not be used after the date shown on the package.
