Analeptic agent of a mixed type of action (stimulation of the central nervous system, direct and reflex excitation, respiratory and vasomotor centers). The mechanism of action consists of 2 components: central and peripheral.
The central mechanism is associated with a direct influence on the vasomotor center of the medulla oblongata, the brain, leading to its excitation and mediated elevated systemic arterial pressure (especially when the center is initially oppressed).
The peripheral component of the mechanism-action is associated with the excitation of chemoreceptors of the carotid sinus, which leads to an increase in the frequency and depth of respiratory movements.
There is no direct influence on the cardiovascular system.
