Antihypoxant agent, increases oxygenation of tissues, improves hemodynamics and protects the brain from hypoxia. Has a metabolic effect. In conditions of normobaric hypoxia, it increases the resistance of the organism to endogenous and exogenous pathological factors.

Indications:

Various diseases accompanied by hypoxia:

- Diseases of the respiratory system (including pneumonia, bronchial asthma), cardiovascular system (including chronic heart failure, collapse, arrhythmias, pulmonary edema);

- poisoning with carbon monoxide, hydrocyanic acid, asphyxiating substances (including chlorine, phosgene);

- weakening of breathing in the postoperative period;

- ischemia of the lower extremities, trauma of the limbs;

- cerebrovascular diseases;

- Hyperbaric oxygenation (heart and lung operations, reconstructive operations on the organs of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), intoxication, anemia, peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer, chronic hepatitis);

- hypoxic therapy (coronary heart disease, arterial hypertension, gastrointestinal diseases, asthenia, depression, fatigue, condition after radiation therapy).

Contraindications:

Hyperbaric oxygenation:

- presence of cavities in the lungs, bronchopleural fistula, unoccupied pneumothorax;

- violation of patency of the auditory tubes and ducts connecting the sinuses with the external environment;

- ARVI;

- epilepsy;

- arterial hypertension;

- neoplasms.

Carefully:With hyperbaric oxygenation: Bronchial asthma, congenital spherocytosis, high fever, optic neuritis, upper respiratory tract infections, pregnancy, simultaneous cisplatin, doxorubicin, disulfiram, mafenida (increasing medicaments toxicity data), emphysema, barotrauma ears.

Pregnancy and lactation:Due to the lack of special clinical studies during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the drug should be used when the benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus and / or the baby and under the direct supervision of the doctor.

Dosing and Administration:

Inhalation, in a concentration of 40-60%, in a mixture with air, in an amount of 4-5 l / min.

When breathing is weakened in the postoperative period, when poisoning, intoxication is used 100% oxygen or a mixture of carbonic acid.

Inhalation is carried out through masks or tubes, attached by means of special devices to a cylinder with oxygen, or using rubber cushions.

Hyperbaric oxygenation: The procedure is carried out in special pressure chambers, for therapeutic purposes apparatuses (single-chamber chambers) are used that create an oxygen pressure of 1.2-1.6-2 atm. Conduct 1 session per day (40-60 minutes), the course of treatment - 8-10 sessions.

With peptic ulcer of stomach and duodenum, chronic hepatitis is administered under pressure 0.7-1 excess atmosphere. (sessions for 45 minutes); course of treatment -15 sessions.

Hypoxicotherapy: special training that leads to oxygen deficiency (normobaric hypoxia) by using gas mixtures with a reduced oxygen content to create an artificial hypoxia (at normal atmospheric pressure).

Side effects:

Hyperbaric oxygenation: hypoglycemia, headache, numbness of fingers, transient visual impairment, barotrauma of the ears (ear pain, damage and rupture of the tympanic membrane) and paranasal sinuses, fatigue,acceleration of cataract ripening; rarely - acute oxygen intoxication (convulsions, pulmonary edema).

Oxygen therapy: myocardial ischemia in patients who underwent myocardial infarction.

Overdose:

With prolonged and unsystematic application of high concentrations of oxygen (over 60-80%) with a large flux (over 6-8 l / min) there is a danger of hyperoxygenation and as a consequence - pulmonary edema. With prolonged action of oxygen, decompensatory reactions develop, manifested by functional and structural disorders in various systems and organs. Signs of oxygen intoxication appear after a certain period. Its duration may depend on individual sensitivity to oxygen, temperature and humidity of the environment, concentration in the inspired gas mixture, emotional and physical loads, the state of the central nervous system, etc.

Treatment: symptomatic.

Oxygen is stored in cylinders in gaseous form under pressure.

Average oxygen content in 1 dm³ volume of the cylinder at an overpressure of 14.7 MPa and a temperature of 20 ° C of at least 150 liters.
