Hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) is contraindicated in:
- chronic and acute inflammatory processes in the nasopharynx, bronchi, lungs, ears (rhinitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, runny nose, tonsillitis, otitis, poor tolerance of flights in the airplane);
- presence of cysts and cavities in the lungs, bronchopleural fistula;
- epileptic seizures or their equivalents (after head injuries, vascular, infectious brain damage);
- persistent increase in blood pressure above 160/90 mm Hg. and severe forms of hypertension;
- glaucoma, hemorrhages (fresh) on the fundus and proliferative changes in the vessels of the fundus (for diabetics it is necessary to have an ophthalmologist and a permit for HBO);
- active bleeding (HBO is possible only after stopping it);
- fear of closed space (claustrophobia);
- hypersensitivity to oxygen;
- neoplasms.
