Oxygen medical gaseous - instructions for use, dose, side effects, contraindications

Antihypoxant agent, increases oxygenation of tissues, improves hemodynamics and protects the brain from hypoxia. Has a metabolic effect. In conditions of normobaric hypoxia, it increases the resistance of the organism to endogenous and exogenous pathological factors.

Indications:

- Hypoxia: with respiratory diseases (including pneumonia, bronchial asthma, pulmonary edema), cardiovascular system (including chronic heart failure, cardiopulmonary insufficiency, collapse, arrhythmia);

- poisoning with carbon monoxide, hydrocyanic acid, asphyxiating substances (including chlorine, phosgene);

- weakening of breathing in the postoperative period;

- ischemia of lower extremities, trauma of limbs;

- cerebrovascular diseases of the brain;

- hyperbaric oxygenation (heart and lung operations, reconstructive surgery on the organs of the gastrointestinal tract, intoxication, anemia, peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer, chronic hepatitis);

- Hypoxic therapy (coronary heart disease, arterial hypertension, gastrointestinal disorders, asthenia, depression, fatigue, condition after radiation therapy).

Contraindications:

Hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) is contraindicated in the following cases: inflammatory processes in the nasopharynx, bronchus, lungs, ears, incl. against the background of ARVI (rhinitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, runny nose, tonsillitis, otitis, poor tolerance of flights in the airplane); presence of cysts and cavities in the lungs, bronchopleural fistula; unoccupied pneumothorax; epileptic seizures or their equivalents (after head injuries, vascular, infectious brain damage); arterial hypertension; glaucoma, hemorrhages (fresh) on the fundus and proliferative changes in the vessels of the fundus (for diabetics it is necessary to have an ophthalmologist and a permit for HBO); the bleeding is active (only after stopping it).

Carefully:

Hyperbaric oxygenation is prescribed with caution in bronchial asthma, congenital spherocytosis, high fever, optic neuritis, upper respiratory tract infection, pregnancy, simultaneous administration of cisplatin, doxorubicin, disulfiram,mafenide (increasing the toxicity of these drugs), emphysema, barotrauma of the ears.

Pregnancy and lactation:

It can be used in pregnancy and lactation if the potential benefit to the mother exceeds the possible risk to the fetus or the baby.

Dosing and Administration:

Inhalation, in a concentration of 40-60%, in a mixture with air, in an amount of 4-5 l / min.

With a weakening of breathing in the postoperative period, with poisoning, intoxications use 100% oxygen or a mixture of carbonic acid. Inhalation is carried out through masks or tubes, attached by means of special devices to a cylinder with oxygen, or using rubber cushions.

Hyperbaric oxygenation

The procedure was carried out in a special pressure chambers, are used for therapeutic purposes apparatus (single camera), creating oxygen pressure 1,2-1,6-2 atm. Conduct 1 session per day (40-60 min), treatment course 8-10 sessions. With gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, chronic hepatitis is injected under a pressure of 0.7-1 excess atm. (sessions for 45 minutes); course of treatment - 15 sessions.

Hypoxicotherapy

Conducting special training, leading to oxygen deficiency (normobaric hypoxia) by usinggas mixtures with reduced oxygen content to create artificial hypoxia (at normal atmospheric pressure).

Side effects:

Hyperbaric oxygenation: hypoglycemia, headache, numbness of fingers, transient blurred vision, ear barotrauma (ear pain, and damage to the eardrum) and paranasal sinuses, fatigue, accelerating the maturation of cataracts, rarely - acute oxygen toxicity (convulsions, pulmonary edema).

Oxygen therapy: Possible myocardial ischemia in patients who underwent myocardial infarction.

Overdose:

With prolonged and asymptomatic use of high concentrations of oxygen (over 60-80%) with a large flow (above 6-8 l / min) there is a danger of hyperoxygenation and as a consequence - pulmonary edema. With prolonged action of oxygen, decompensatory reactions develop, manifested by functional and structural disorders in various systems and organs. Signs of oxygen intoxication appear after a certain period. Its duration may depend on individual sensitivity to oxygen, temperature and humidity of the environment, concentration in the inhaled gas mixture, emotional and physical exertion,the state of the central nervous system, etc.

Treatment: symptomatic.

Interaction:

Oxygen increases the toxicity of cisplatin, doxorubicin, disulfiram, mafenide.

Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:Not found.

Form release / dosage:

The gas is compressed.

Packaging:

To 0.15 m³, 0.3 m³, 0.37 m³, 0.75 m³, 1.5 m³, 1.65 m³, 6.0 m³and 7.50 m³at a temperature of 20 ° C and a nominal filling pressure of 150 ± 5 kgf / cm² in metallic blue cylinders with a black inscription "OXYGEN MEDICAL" on the circumference, with a capacity of 1 liter, 2 liters, 2.5 liters, 5 liters, 10 liters, 11 liters, 40 liters and 50 liters, respectively, equipped with a first opening control device.

Two labels are glued on each cylinder.

Each batch of cylinders is supplied with instructions for the medical use of the drug.

Storage conditions:

In a dry separate room or outdoors under a canopy that protects from atmospheric precipitation and direct sunlight, away from heating sources and open fire sources.

Do not store filled cylinders at an air temperature above 50 ° C.

Do not contact with oils and other organic substances to avoid explosion.

Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life:

18 months from the date of filling the cylinder.

Do not use after expiry date.
