Ximelin Eco - instructions for use, dose, side effects, contraindications

Xylometazoline belongs to the group of local vasoconstrictors (decongestants) with alpha-adrenomimetic action, causes narrowing of the blood vessels of the nasal mucosa, thus eliminating the edema and hyperemia of the nasopharyngeal mucosa. Relieves nasal breathing in rhinitis. Ximelin Eco does not contain preservatives. In therapeutic concentrations, it does not irritate the mucous membrane, it does not cause hyperemia. The action comes in a few minutes and lasts for 10-12 hours.

Pharmacokinetics:

With topical application is practically not absorbed, plasma concentrations are so small that they can not be determined by modern analytical methods.

Indications:

Acute respiratory diseases with rhinitis (rhinitis), acute allergic rhinitis, pollinosis, sinusitis, eustachitis, otitis media (to reduce edema of the nasopharyngeal mucosa).

Preparation of the patient for diagnostic manipulation in the nasal passages.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to components of the drug, arterial hypertension, tachycardia expressed Atherosclerosis, glaucoma, atrophic rhinitis, thyrotoxicosis, surgical intervention on the meninges (in the anamnesis), pregnancy, children's age up to 2 years (for the drug Ximelin Eco 35 μg / dose); children's age up to 10 years (for the drug Ximelin Eco 140 μg / dose).

Carefully:

Diabetes mellitus, angina pectoris III - IV functional class, prostatic hyperplasia.

During lactation The drug should be used only after a thorough assessment of the benefit-risk ratio for the mother and child, it is not allowed to exceed the recommended dosage.

Dosing and Administration:

Intranasally.

Preparation Ximelin Eco 35 mcg / dose - spray for children from 2 to 10 years: by 1 injection into each bow course; Do not use more than 3 times in a day.

The drug Ximelin Eco 140 mcg / dose - spray for adults and children over 10 years: 1 injection each nasal passage (if necessary you can repeat); do not do it apply more than 3 times a day.

The drug is applied no more than 10 days.

Side effects:

With frequent and / or prolonged use - irritation and / or dryness of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, burning, tingling, sneezing, hypersecretion. Rarely - edema of the nasal mucosa, palpitations, tachycardia, arrhythmia, increased blood pressure, headache, vomiting, insomnia, impaired vision; depression (with prolonged use of high doses).

Overdose:Symptoms: increased side effects. Treatment is symptomatic.

Interaction:

Incompatible with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants.

Special instructions:

Do not use for a long time, for example, with chronic rhinitis.
