Pharmacodynamics:

Antimicrobial, with local application has an antiseptic effect (denaturing proteins of microorganisms). It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and viruses. Antiseptic activity increases with increasing ethanol concentration. To disinfect the skin use 70% a solution that penetrates more deeply into the deeper layers of the epidermis than 90%, which has a tanning effect on the skin and mucous membranes.

Indications:

Treatment of the initial stages of diseases: furuncle, panaritium, mastitis; treatment of the hands of the surgeon (the methods of Fürbringer, Alfred), the operation field (including those with hypersensitivity to other antiseptics, children and operations on areas with thin skin, adults - neck, face).

As a local irritant.

Contraindications:

Dosing and Administration:

Outer, in the form of lotions. For the treatment of the operating field and the preoperative disinfection of the hands of the surgeon, 70% solution, for compresses and wipes (to avoid burns) it is recommended to use 40% solution.

90% The solution must be diluted to the required concentrations and used according to the indications.

As an irritant - in the form of wipes and compresses.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, skin burns, redness and soreness of the skin in the place of compress.

When used externally, it is partially absorbed through the skin and mucous membranes and may have a resorptive general toxicity (central nervous system depression).
