Hexicon - instructions for use, dose, side effects, contraindications

Composition:One tablet contains:
active substance - chlorhexidine bigluconate - 16 mg (chlorhexidine bigluconate is used as a solution (concentration 20%));
auxiliary substances: microcrystalline cellulose for medical purposes - 16.5 mg, corn pregelatinized corn starch - 16.5 mg, povidone low molecular weight - 11.0 mg, stearic acid - 5.5 mg, lactose monohydrate - 484.5 mg.

Description:

Tablets white or white with a yellowish tint of color, biconvex oblong. Allowed a slight marbling surface.

Pharmacodynamics:

Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic drug for local intravaginal use, is active against the simplest, Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, viruses, including Treponema pallidum, Chlamydia spp., Ureaplasma spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis, Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides fragilis, Herpes simplex 2 types. Some strains are slightly sensitive to the drug Pseudomonas spp., Proteus spp., as well as resistant to acid-fast forms of bacteria, spores of bacteria, fungi. Chlorhexidine does not interfere with the functional activity of lactobacilli. Keeps activity (albeit somewhat lowered) in the presence of blood, pus.

Pharmacokinetics:

Systemic absorption with intravaginal application is insignificant.

Indications:

Treatment of bacterial vaginosis, colpitis (including nonspecific, mixed, trichomonads).

Prevention of infectious and inflammatory complications in obstetrics and gynecology (before surgical treatmentgynecological diseases, before childbirth and abortion, before and after installation of the intrauterine device (IUD), before and after diathermocoagulation of the cervix, before intrauterine tests).

Prevention of sexually transmitted infections (chlamydia, ureaplasmosis, trichomoniasis, gonorrhea, syphilis, genital herpes).

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Carefully:

Childhood.

In childhood, it is recommended to use Hexicon® D, vaginal suppositories 8 mg.

Pregnancy and lactation:

The use of the drug is possible only after a thorough assessment of the expected benefits for the mother and the risk to the fetus and the baby.

Dosing and Administration:

Intravaginal. Before use, the tablet should be soaked in water.

For treatment: 1 vaginal tablet 1-2 times a day, for 7-10 days.

For the prevention of sexually transmitted infections: 1 vaginal tablet no later than 2 hours after unprotected intercourse.

Side effects:Possible allergic reactions, itching of the vagina, which occur after the drug is withdrawn.

Overdose:

Due to low systemic absorption, an overdose is unlikely.

Cases of drug overdose are unknown.

Interaction:

It is not recommended simultaneous use with iodine-containing drugs used intravaginally.

Chlorhexidine is not compatible with detergents containing an anionic group (saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose), and soaps, if they are administered intravaginally.

Special instructions:

The toilet of the external genitalia does not affect the efficacy and tolerability of vaginal tablets of Hexicon®, since the drug is administered intravaginally.

It is possible to use during menstruation, because the hexicon tablets retain their activity, although slightly reduced, in the presence of blood, pus and other biological fluids.

Form release / dosage:Vaginal tablets 16 mg.

Packaging:

For 5 or 10 tablets in a contoured cell pack of a polyvinylchloride film and aluminum foil printed lacquered. 1, 2 contourcell packs of 5 tablets or 1 circuit cell pack of 10 tablets together with instructions for medical use of the drug are placed in a pack of cardboard.

Storage conditions:

In dry, dark place at a temperature of no higher than 25 ° C.

Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life:

2 years. Do not use the product after the expiry date printed on the package.
