Active substance: chlorhexidine bigluconate - 16 mg (chlorhexidine bigluconate is used as a solution (concentration 20%)).

Description:

Pharmacodynamics:

Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic drug for topical application, is active against the simplest, Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, viruses, including Treponema pallidum, Chlamidia spp., Ureaplasma spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis, Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides fragilis, Herpes simplex virus 2 type. Some strains are slightly sensitive to the drug Pseudomonas spp., Proteus spp., A Also resistant are acid-fast forms of bacteria, spores of bacteria, fungi. Chlorhexidine does not interfere with the functional activity of lactobacilli. It retains activity, albeit somewhat reduced, in the presence of blood, pus and other biological fluids.

Pharmacokinetics:

When intravaginal application is almost not absorbed, no systemic effect.

Indications:

- treatment of vaginitis (including acute nonspecific, mixed, trichomonads);

- prevention of infectious and inflammatory complications in obstetrics and gynecology (before operative treatment of gynecological diseases, before childbirth and abortion, before and after installation of the intrauterine device (IUD), before and after diathermocoagulation of the cervix, before intrauterine studies);

- prevention of sexually transmitted infections (chlamydia, ureaplasmosis, genital herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis).

Contraindications:

- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Pregnancy and lactation:

During pregnancy and during breastfeeding Chlorhexidine apply only if the intended benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus and the baby.

Dosing and Administration:

Intravaginal. Before use, the suppository is freed from the contoured package.

For treatment: 1 suppository 2 times a day, for 7-10 days.

For the prevention of sexually transmitted infections: 1 suppository not later than 2 hours after unprotected intercourse.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, itching, which occur after the drug cancellation, are possible.

Overdose:

Interaction:

Chlorhexidine is not compatible with detergents containing an anionic group (saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose), and soaps, if they are administered intravaginally.

Special instructions:
