Diclofenac has an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-edematous effect due to the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, which play a major role in the pathogenesis of inflammation.

When rheumatic diseases reduces pain in joints at rest and during movement, as well as morning stiffness and swelling of the joints, contributes to an increase in the volume of movements.

With external application diclofenac penetrates through the skin and accumulates in the underlying tissues (subcutaneous tissue, muscle tissue, joint capsule and joint cavity).

Inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system (articular syndrome with rheumatism and exacerbation of gout, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, osteochondrosis with radicular syndrome, sciatica, inflammatory processes of ligaments, tendons, bursitis, sciatica, lumbago);

Muscle pain of rheumatic and non-rheumatic origin;

Post-traumatic inflammation of soft tissues and the musculoskeletal system (injuries and ruptures of ligaments, dislocations, bruises).

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or other components of the dosage form, acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, pregnancy and lactation period, children's age (up to 6 years).

Dosing and Administration:

Ointment Diclofenac put in an amount of 2-4 grams (strip 4-8 cm), depending on the area of the painful area, a thin layer on the affected area and gently rubbed into the skin 3-4 times a day. Ointment should be applied only to undamaged skin areas, avoiding getting the drug into the eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds.

Side effects:

In rare cases, itching, redness, rash, burning sensation of local nature may occur.

Overdose:

With an external application of the ointment, an overdose is unlikely. However, when applying ointment to large areas of the skin and with prolonged use, it is impossible to completely exclude the possibility of systemic side effects of diktophenac.

Interaction:

When applying ointment Diclofenac interaction with other drugs is minimal. However, it should be remembered that with the simultaneous use of diclofenac with potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium concentration in the blood may increase, with "loop diuretics" - a decrease in their diuretic effect; with other NSAIDs - increased risk of developing side effects. Diclofenac with simultaneous application can cause an increase in the concentration of digoxin and lithium in blood plasma.
